Rancho Del Mar Renovation & Modernization Project, Aptos

Property Development Centers (PDC), a subsidiary of Safeway, has enlisted our services to manage the community outreach and planning process for the Rancho Del Mar Renovation & Modernization Project in Aptos. The project includes the renovation/remodel of the shopping center, and the relocation/expansion of the existing Safeway store. Information, details, renderings, and more can be found at: www.ranchodelmarcenter.com.

Safeway/PDC awarded a $50,000 grant to the Cabrillo College Foundation to provide technical support for tenants in the Rancho del Mar Center through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Cabrillo College. The SBDC team of advisors will serve as counselors to the small business owners at the Rancho Del Mar Center. According to SBDC Director Teresa Thomae, the grant will fund a range of services that will be tailored to the unique needs of each business.

To date, the project team has held three Community Meetings, one general issues meeting and two Design Workshops. In addition, numerous small meetings with Aptos groups, homeowners/improvement associations, and coalitions have been held to present initial concepts for the renovation and collect feedback from the community.

In response to concerns that the original, conceptual design for the project did not “feel like Aptos”, the architectural team re-designed the conceptual drawings to better reflect the aesthetic and history of Aptos. Revised renderings of the conceptual project can be seen HERE.

For more information about the project, the projected timeline, the process, and/or to provide feedback, please feel free to contact our office and visit the project website:
